Need a full-featured, low-cost
alternative in access routers?
The new NetVanta 3000 Series from ADTRAN is a
standards-based solution now available at a cost
that’s up to 55 percent less than comparable routers.
These versatile devices accommodate a variety of
interchangeable Network Interface Modules (NIMs)
and Dial Backup Interface Modules (DIMs). Line rates
range from 56 kbps to dual T1/E1 with or without
voice. Dial Backup options include analog or
ISDN BRI. Available in desktop or rackmount
configurations, these powerful routers include a
stateful inspection firewall, DSU/CSU, and QoS as
standard equipment, and offer optional voice support,
PPP dial backup, and Virtual Private Networking.
Migrate easily without interruption
to daily operations.
Standards-compliant NetVanta 3000 Series routers can
coexist on the same network with other brand name
routers. The Command Line Interface (CLI) is similar
to the one you’re accustomed to using. The sequence
of commands used to setup, configure, and manage
the NetVanta 3000 Series is closely aligned with those
used in commonly deployed CLIs, eliminating the
training costs normally associated with learning a
new operating system.
Is network security a top priority?
To protect your network against intruders, the
NetVanta 3000 Series includes a high-performance
stateful inspection firewall. This stringent line of
defense protects the network from unauthorized
external cyber attacks, while enabling employee
access to valuable corporate information resources.
The firewall can identify and protect against common
Denial of Service (DoS) attempts, such as TCP SYN
flooding, IP spoofing, ICMP redirect, ping of death,
and IP reassembly problems.
Is QoS gaining attention in your
organization?
For delay-sensitive applications like Voice over IP or
Video over IP, NetVanta 3000 access routers classify
traffic, change or mark packets if necessary, and
direct traffic to a priority queue. NetVanta routers
use DiffServ for packet marking or re-marking, and
Priority or Weighted Fair Queuing to ensure that
critical traffic is sent out first. In addition, Frame Relay
Fragmentation is used to break up long packets and
avoid jitter. When used in combination, ADTRAN
NetVanta routers, switches, and Internet security
appliances offer a fully compatible, single-source
QoS solution.
