Event Log

The Event Log (Figure 22) loads and time-stamps Total

Reach DDS circuit performance anomalies and

threshold violations. This screen is a very useful aid in

troubleshooting a chronic circuit. It monitors DSL and

DDS sync loss, DSL and DDS open loop, and the Total

Reach DDS-DP and Total Reach OCU-R margin. DSL

loop signal-to-noise margin is calculated on a numerical

scale from 0-20 with 0 approximately equal to a BER of

× 10 -6 and 20 equal to a BER of about 1 × 10-9.
