iq-handshake
Use the iq-handshake command for dial-backup operation with ADTRAN IQ and Express family
products. Using the iq-handshake command enables the association of incoming calls with packet
endpoints (in cases where there is a single call-in number (hunt group) and no Caller ID information
available). Use the no form of this command to disable the IQ handshake.
Syntax Description
No subcommands
Default Values
By default, the iq-handshake feature is disabled.
Command Modes
(config-interface)# Interface Configuration Mode
Valid interfaces include: BRI (bri 1/2), Modem (modem 1/2 modem 1/3), virtual
frame relay sub-interfaces (fr 1.6), and virtual PPP interfaces (ppp 1).

Functional Notes
The ADTRAN IQ and Express products implement a proprietary dial-backup mechanism to transfer
configuration information (such as DLCIs) when entering dial-backup mode. The
iq-handshake
command
enables this proprietary data transfer in the ADTRAN OS.
Usage Examples
The following example enables the proprietary data transfer (to an IQ or Express product) on the BRI
dial-backup interface:
(config)#
interface bri 1/2
(config-bri 1/2)#
